Dead Men Rocking

Welcome

February 7th, 2011

Dead Men Rocking is a Santa Cruz, California band consisting of (mostly) live men rocking. The sound is a bit edgy, but familiar. We’re covering early rockin’ blues by the original Fleetwood Mac and Savoy Brown to the “swampy” southern rock. Oh, and there are those cool, twisted versions of Gram Parsons and them and a classic by Love.

But DMR is a lot more than that. We’ve created our own original sound, featured in songs like “(The Devil Inside) Needs You Tonite”, “Dead Men Rocking”, and “Swamp Thing”. Our unique songs are driven by bluesy slide guitar, smooth vocals, and rocking tunes that cover a lot of rock history and exciting new frontiers.

For a bunch of Dead Men Rocking, it’s an incredibly lively and fun sound.

Cliff says “bye Dead Men”

April 23rd, 2013

April 2013

After 3 years of rocking, rolling, and hoping, I have decided to leave the band. An original band with original songs needs a CD…and we needed one two years ago. There were lots of reasons the CD has not been finished, but whatever they are, I’ve moved on to produce my own solo CD “Tin Star” and begin to promote it.

I wish the remaining Dead Men nothing but the best!

DMR Rocks KPIG!

March 16th, 2011

Sunday, March 13 – first day of daylight savings. Let’s lose an hour of sleep and go to Watsonville! We dragged ourselves down Highway 1 to the fabulous KPIG studios, where we performed “Swamp Thing” and “Need You Tonite”, both on our new CD “Dead Men / Live”…

AND we got to meet Grammy nominated folk hero Ramblin’ Jack Elliot and Byron Berline and his great bluegrass band. Their guitarist, John Fish found us after their performance and told us how much he liked our material – “I heard a lot of George Harrison in there” ! Well, he is a Dead Man Rocking.

We’ll post our KPIG performance on the site soon! Sounded great – even unplugged.

On to HENFLINGS in Ben Lomond on Saturday night for our CD Release Party!
